Okay, so I intended on posting this blog as soon as I returned from Nassau a few weeks ago (3 weeks to be exact). My Thyroid hormones have been out of wack so I've been feeling sluggish and exhausted since I got back from vacation. The trip was great and it was a great opportunity for me to get some self care.
My girls and I took a 5 day trip (in Mid-August) to Nassau,
Bahamas to celebrate my best friend and sister’s birthdays.
This has been the first child free vacation I've
had in over 2 years so I was excited to have a few days to myself for self
care, fun and relaxation. I'm always really busy and TIRED between juggling my
career, motherhood, my household, in addition to the constant fatigue I feel
due to my thyroid struggles.
My friends and I stayed at the Melia Nassau Beach
All-Inclusive Resort which I booked through costcotravel.com. I booked their standard pool-view room which still, in my opinion had a great view.

What I liked..
The front desk and
restaurant reservation staff at the hotel were amazing, the room was large and had an amazing view and most importantly the beach was
BEAUTIFUL!
A few things I didn't like were the showers were a
bit rusty and leaky, my friends mentioned the same thing about their rooms as
well. The maid service also ever left enough towels in the bathroom. I also thought they were lacking on showing their true Bahamian culture.
What we did..
A trip to Balmoral Island was included in our Costco purchase. We took a ferry from Senor Frogs in downtown Nassau to the Island. We purchased a cabana and enjoyed hanging out for about 4 hours. It was
getting way too hot and we couldn't hang anymore lol.

We also went to the famous Atlantis Hotel for a
few hours during our trip. We got there after the aquarium and water park
closed so we didn't have the opportunity to check those out. We did check out
the shopping, restaurants, and casino which were awesome.
The best part of my entire vacation outside of
the beach was going to the Fish Fry, which is a bunch of restaurants close to
downtown Nassau. We went to Oh Andros and Twin Brothers during the trip and
each time I had the Snapper literally everything we were served was delicious.

Overall, my girls and I had a very laid back and fun
trip. We hit the beach every day, had a little too much alcohol, and shared
lots of laughs.
